2.

Parker, Hound mix (3 m/o) - via All Breed Rescue Vermont, VT • “He’s the last of his litter.” #rescuemonth

STATUS: ADOPTED

3.

Andrew, Boxer mix (2 y/o), via All Breed Rescue Vermont, VT • “He’s good with other dogs, big into tug of war, and enjoys laying at feet.”

STATUS: STILL AVAILABLE

4.

Elway, Pit Bull mix (2 y/o), via All Breed Rescue Vermont, VT • “He’s the goodest boy. He can play for hours and is good with other dogs.” #rescuemonth

STATUS: STILL AVAILABLE

5.

Kiko, Tramp, & Allison, “Sato” mixes (10 w/o) - via The Student Rescue Project • “They were found under a bridge in Puerto Rico. We went searching before Hurricane Dorian hit. Their mother was hit by a car and had passed away when we found them. They finished their quarantine and landed in Boston last week.” #rescuemonth

STATUS: ADOPTED

6.

Nik, Havanese mix (6 m/o) - via Animal Lighthouse Rescue, Strut Your Mutt, NYC • ““He’s from Puerto Rico and was found drowning in water. We’ve had more applications for him than any other dog. We’re looking for a strong commitment with the right family – someone who can give him a walker three times a day. Given his background, Nik needs some extra attention and should not be left alone for extended periods right away.”

STATUS: ADOPTED

7.

Princess & Mr. Cuddles, Chihuahuas (3 & 8 y/o) - via Animal Lighthouse Rescue, Strut Your Mutt, NYC • “Princess was found in a neglect situation. She lived her whole life in a bird cage. She never had fresh food or water but started licking our volunteer’s hand as soon as they arrived. Mr. Cuddles is blind – how he survived on the street we don’t know. His name is very appropriate.” #rescuemonth

  • PRINCESS: STILL AVAILABLE
  • MR. CUDDLES: ADOPTED

8.

Dabo, Boxer/Mastiff mix (4 y/o) - via All Breed Rescue Vermont, VT • “He’s really great for hikes. Good with dogs and kids. He jumps really high but never catches anything.” #rescuemonth

STATUS: ADOPTED

9.

Lova Boy, mix (1 y/o) - via Bideawee, NYC • “Lova Boy just arrived from down South from an area affected by the hurricane. He enjoys galloping around like a baby deer, as puppies do. He walks well on a leash, has good manners, though if he wants to kiss you, all bets are off. Lova Boy has a condition called paraphimosis - basically his ‘lipstick’ is always a little out, so his future family will have to accept that he seems excited most of the time.” #rescuemonth

STATUS: STILL AVAILABLE

10.

Cameron, Hound mix (2 y/o) - via Bideawee, NYC • “Cameron came from the South, where we believe he was freeze branded as someone’s hunting dog. Luckily he was rescued and his tail hasn’t stopped wagging. He’s well mannered and will make a wonderful friend and companion! #rescuemonth

STATUS: STILL AVAILABLE

11.

Tricia, Plott Hound mix (2 y/o) - via Bideawee, NYC • “She’s regal but also has a signature goofy smile. She wants to be your exercise buddy by day and snuggle buddy by night.” #rescuemonth

STATUS: STILL AVAILABLE

12.

Molly, Beagle (7 y/o) - via Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary NY • “She’s a senior but doesn’t act like it. She’s got some pep in her strep. We think she probably came from an owner who passed away – she’s well fed, house broken, and super friendly.”

STATUS: ADOPTION PENDING

13.

Ernie, Great Pyrenees mix (9 m/o) - via Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary NY • “He came in from a shelter in North Carolina as skin and bones – 35 pounds. He's up 18 lbs from eating and he’s getting neutered tomorrow. He’s a typical Pyr – doesn’t have any recall. Very gentle but aloof*.” #rescuemonth

STATUS: STILL AVAILABLE

14.

Monte, Labrador Retriever mix (5 m/o) - via Animal Haven, NYC • “He lives with a condition called Megaesophagus. Essentially, Monte's esophagus is enlarged and doesn't function correctly to help keep his food down. So in order to feed him, we employ a team to hold him upright while he eats, then keep him held upright for at least 15 minutes while his food digests (3x daily!), in order to prevent him from regurgitating his food. There are special chairs made for animals with Megaesophagus called ‘Bailey Chairs’ that help hold them upright during and after their feedings, and we're working to obtain a custom chair for Monte. And of course, he's only 5 months old, so he'll need one that can grow with him as he gets older and bigger! We'll also provide special training for Monte so he learns how to use his chair! Monte is a gleeful, playful puppy who otherwise lives a normal life. He LOVES toys and enjoys his ‘party time’ in our training room where he runs out his zoomies. Although his condition prevents us from using treats to train, he's highly toy motivated!”

STATUS: STILL AVAILABLE

15.

Edith, Chiweenie mix (7 y/o) - via Animal Haven NY • “She was dumped at a dog park in Harlem. This old girl has been through a lot in a very short amount of time and is understandably very hesitant around new people. She’s shy at first but she becomes a huge lap dog with time. Come spend the day with her!” #rescuemonth

STATUS: STILL AVAILABLE

16.

Ivy, mix (4 y/o) - via Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary , NY • “She lived in someone’s backyard her whole life. She didn’t even know what a leash was when she came here. After she warms up she’s super sweet – a 50-lb lap dog.” #rescuemonth

STATUS: STILL AVAILABLE

17.

Dora, Terrier mix (1 y/o) - via Best Friends Animal Society - New York City • “She’s super high energy – the only time she got tired was after a 10-mile walk. She’s treat motivated and sometimes shy. She’s very smart and has a PhD in aDORAble.”

STATUS: STILL AVAILABLE

18.

Orange, mix (3 m/o) - via Best Friends Animal Society - New York City• “He likes to dance for attention. He’s always waiting for the next song to come on. He just came up from our Atlanta center.” #rescuemonth

20.

Flower, Chow Chow mix (10 y/o) - via Animal Haven , NYC • “She’s a sweet but shy girl who is still settling into the shelter. She was with a family her whole life, but they moved and couldn’t take her and has had a hard time adjusting. She'd love to find the perfect patient and loving person who is willing to go at her pace to help her feel confident and safe. If you think you have a quiet home and are looking for a low-key gal, come meet Flower at Animal Haven!” #rescuemonth

STATUS: ADOPTED

21.

Sheena, Pit Bull mix (10 y/o) - via Best Friends Animal Society NYC • “She comes with her own wagon because she sometimes decides she doesn’t want to come back on her own and needs the Sheenamobile. She’s in water therapy for her arthritis so she can lose some weight. She’s like a big velvet teddy bear.” #rescuemonth

STATUS: STILL AVAILABLE

22.

Hunter, Pit Bull (4 y/o) - via Best Friends Animal Society - New York City, NYC • “He lights up around people and doesn’t like being in the kennel. He’s an extrovert.” #rescuemonth

STATUS: ADOPTED

23.

Mickey, Sato mix (8 m/o) - via Animal Haven, NYC • “He’s from Puerto Rico and came to us through @TheSatoProject with his sister. He’s shy but completely opens up around other dogs, so he should really have another dog to play with.” #rescuemonth
